Kitchen.......

I'M GETTING A NEW KITCHEN :-) YAY!!!!!!!!

I've wanted a new kitchen for the longest time..... but we found a way to fix the structural damage with out replacing the plumbing OR tearing out the old cut joists..... drop the ceiling 13 inches and run new supporting beams after jacking up the bathroom....

Which leads us to: if you're going to tear out parts of the walls for the cross support beams.... then why not just tear out the walls and get the dirty job all done at once? (I don't honestly think I can handle cleaning up after another destruction a third time in the future) And since I thought the fixing of the beam was gonna be expensive, lets just do the kitchen as well...... (Ryan and I actually bought new appliances a couple of years ago thinking that this would save us money when we remodeled the kitchen in the future and he was right :-)

It needed to be done if I was ever going to sell this house anyway and it's also not a frivilous thing to spend money on..... it's a smart investment to increase the value of my house... can we all say "Very Nice" ?

***** Side note:
I learned something new yesterday thanks to John..... in our exploring of uses for natural products we find in our house everyday..... He discovered that olive oil can be used as a shaving cream and also to preserve your razors from rust! He jumped all over it last night and tried this new fact out (we won't mention what was shaved) but it worked! No chemicals and no body reaction from the olive oil (which says a lot because he has sensitive skin as do I)

So now I have a nice bottle of extra virgin olive oil sitting in my shower :-) Cheaper, will last longer, and is natural :-)

that kitchen looks great. Its always exciting to remodel. In the future, after we are done traveling, I cant wait to own a house so i can do what i want. Like paint the walls or whateva, lol. Olive oil? Hmm...haven't heard of that one but I will have to try it. I have been looking for an alternative to conditioner (what I'm currently using). I love cleaning with natural products. Vinegar and baking soda do wonders! Hope the boys are feeling better :)

Hey Dana,
Thanks for adding me to your list of blogs that inspire!
Good luck with the kitchen remodel. I know how much work that can be but it always seems like it was worth it when the job is done:)
