It's a Carrot people!

So.... here's the story monday afternoon.......Zak: "Mom, remember I'm the spring concert at school on thursday?"

Me: "I thought you didn't know if you were in it and I didn't turn in the paper...."

Zak: "BUT I AM MOM! My music teacher says I am and I told her I was going to be a carrot!"

Me: "Crap. How are we supposed to get you a carrot costume by thursday?"

John: "Are you SURE Zak?"

Zak: "YEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!"

So, John and I walked around Target and talked it out a bit..... Came up with an idea of just an orange sweat outfit and green hair (dyed with kool-aid or painted on)..... as we are looking around, we realize that this time of year, you can't BUY sweat outfits, let alone green ones..... so we scrapped that idea and we headed to the fabric store...... I decided I was going to sew one! John doubted me for a bit being as he's never seen me sew and the fact that I haven't decided on a sewing machine to purchase yet and I would be doing it by hand..... well..... neener neener, turns out I did a darn good job!

Fast forward to tuesday.... post carrot making fiasco....

Zak: "Mom, my music teacher says my part was given away."

Me: "Zak, you are wearing that damn costume even if you have to wear it to school all day long!"
Zak: "BUT MOM!"

Me: "But nothing. I made that thing just for you and some how you are going to wear it."

Turns out, he didn't need to have a "part" in the play. Everyone had some kind of garden costume on. He wore it to the concert and was the cutest darn carrot there!!!!!
Oh yeah, and we're like the parents with ADD..... here's some of John and I picking on Zane during the show :-)
It was fun enough that Zane didn't even want to leave :-)

thank you all :-) Barbara... Baby Lock, where do they sell those? I'm looking at garage sales around town before other places :-) Mom-- I love you :-) Nina-- your right, that's a good idea because we had no clue what else to do with it now. Unless Izeah wants to be a carrot for Halloween in like 3 years :-)

I hope you guys had a great weekend. Too bad the weather was a bit on the chilly side. Today, though, it's supposed to be 75 and sunny. Go figure!
