Surgery

Hey hey :-) Today is Izeah's surgery day! Little story.... he had an undescended teste at birth and eventually it did come down. Then he had an inguinal hernia that would come out and wouldn't reduce so when he was 2 he had surgery to correct that. Well, bout when he turned 3, I noticed that his teste wasn't in his sac again..... even in the bath tub (which in warm water, it should have dropped down). We thought maybe it was a "floating" teste but we were wrong.... Apparently during his healing from the hernia surgery, somehow it got tangled up in the scar tissue and is now wrapped in there or pulled back into his abdomen.....

So today they are going in to find it..... if it's left in there, the body could view it as foreign, and start to attack it, which would increase his risk for testicular cancer (but in his abdomen).... makes perfect sense, right? :-)

He also has meatal stenosis, so they will cut his slit a little bigger on his *pee pee* while he's sleeping.....

Well, we have kept izeah on top of everything that is going to happen to him because there are no surprises in this house. I've found in the past that it makes it easier if children are involved with their health. They feel like they have control of themselves, and they are much less scared at the doctors office..... So John and I are trying to make this fun for him :-)

We wrote a message for the doctors and nurses :-) Izeah thinks he got a tattoo :-)
