Children.... SHOULD hear this man...

Oh my oh my...

I've really got to share my thoughts on this.

I was informed this weekend that Barack Obama was to give a speech to students today. As soon as I found this out, I was all for it and hoped that my children in school will be able to hear the speech. If they don't get the chance, I will sit with them at home and watch it with them myself.

Then I heard that there was a lot of objections from parents.

In my personal opinion..... STOP COMPLAINING.

Do you think it is important for your children to learn about history?
Do you think it's important that children receive an education?
Do you think it's important that parents, family, teachers, and children should all work together?
Do you think it's important that our school systems start to OVER achieve and not continue to UNDER achieve?

Well I do.
As a parent, a PTA member, an active participant in my children's education and upbringing, I think it's one of the most important things I work on EVERYDAY.

I think it's FANTASTIC that the president of our country actually cares that our children suffer from lack of parental involvement, sedentary lifestyles, lack of activity, lack of imagination , and lack of personal growth.

These are the things I strive to provide for my children everyday.

It really angers me as well to see such close minded individuals make statements that it is inappropriate for children to hear this speech.

And that's all I'm going to say about that. If I offended anyone for my language, I apologize. If I offended you because I challenge your right as a free American to chose what your child is exposed to, then bring it, but make sure the argument is more valid then the statements made by parents that I have read today.

I agree. And its not like he's the first president that has addressed the nations youth- so why do all these folks have their undies in a wad? Obama fan or not, he *is* our president. Once the elections are over people need to throw out the sour puss attitude and give the President respect.... at least until he proves he doesn't deserve it. Maybe it's easy for me to say this since I'm an Obama supporter, but roles reversed, I would have my children listen to McCain and I would encourage them to be respectful. We may not agree with his view point, but that is why we have mouths. We would discuss it as a family!

The coffee is strong this morning, lol I better go!
